Mobile Architect

CLIENT is seeking a seasoned mobile technologist to design and develop a strategic mobile application suite supporting its commercial banking businesses.  The Mobile Architect will report to the Chief Architect and work closely with business and technology partners to design and implement mobile solutions for CLIENT's global workforce, sales team, vendor/dealer clients, commercial and consumer customers.
Ideal candidates will have experience delivering mobile apps for both iOS and Android running on smartphones and tablets.  Candidates should be intimately familiar with both native mobile app development and hybrid architectures leveraging HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and one or more of the leading mobile web frameworks like Sencha Touch, Titanium, or jQuery Touch.
 
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of software development experience with strong hands-on skills, solid understanding of architecture and design patterns
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing mobile applications for iOS or Android application platforms running on both smartphones and tablets
  • Experience with both native app development (Xcode, Objective C, UIKit, Core Animation, Core Graphics, Core Data) and hybrid architectures leveraging HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Implementation experience with one or more of the leading mobile web frameworks like Sencha Touch, Titanium, or jQuery Touch
  • Seasoned candidates will distinguish themselves via professional app development experience, referencing apps they built which are available in Apple's app store or Google Play
  • Experience with Good for Enterprise and Good Dynamics is a plus
  • Financial services experience is not required but distinguished candidates will have some business knowledge of commercial loans & leases, corporate finance, vendor finance, trade finance, or related domains
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Bachelors degree in a related technical field from an accredited college or university
  • Working knowledge of UML concepts and Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and TDD a plus
  • Knowledge of cloud based services such as Azure and Amazon EC2 is a plus
  • Experience mentoring and training the engineering community on complex technical issues
  • Proven track record of delivery and client-orientation
  • Motivated self-starter with solid time management skills
  • Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills

This is a hands-on role for a seasoned mobile technologist.  Candidates selected for interviews should expect a thorough technical assessment that will examine skills in user interface design, native mobile app development, JavaScript/CSS/HTML5, and overall technical reasoning capability.
