Description:
The position of Sr. Developer in the Business Intelligence group is responsible for designing and developing Business Intelligence solutions including ETL packages, Data Marts, Data Warehouses and Data Cubes. The BI Sr. Developer will use the BI development suite to build enterprise-wide Business Intelligence Solutions in the development and support of the strategic framework for management reporting, analytics and business intelligence. This role will require working with the business stakeholders, data architects, and database teams to enhance an enterprise infrastructure solution that will provide key end users/decision makers throughout the company with a robust analytics and reporting platform. This includes selecting proper reporting tools, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out analytics and reporting solutions to key end users. The BI Sr. Developer will work closely with business leaders and users, as well as other CSIT and Business unit IT teams to define and design solutions tailored to the specific business needs. This role will have technical responsibilities for design, development and support of the Corporate Information delivery solutions, as well as development and delivery of training courseware, system documentation and user documentation. Sr. Developer will perform analysis and develop standard report / dashboard offerings that support ad hoc requests from across the organization to provide critical information required by business users and senior management when making tactical and strategic decisions. The Sr. Developer will also build standard reporting to support the various lines of business.
The Sr. Developer will be responsible for provide technical knowledge to the design and implementation of the enterprise wide business intelligence solutions for small, medium, and large projects. The Sr. Developer will need to possess experience in designing and building data mart and data warehouse solutions including ETL processes, relational and multi-dimensional data models, and reporting and dashboard applications. The day-to-day responsibilities will be to work with the business users to understand the needs and define the requirements, including report definition, conversion and data cleansing rules, design changes to screens and reports, develops user system documentation and provides appropriate user training. These duties include creating technical design specifications, developing analytical reports, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, debug, tune and optimize report performance. The Sr. Developer is responsible for developing reports, dashboards, and supporting the CLIENT's Worldwide Business Intelligence platforms and applications. The candidate will work the business users and management to understand and fulfill their business intelligence/reporting information needs. This individual must be able understand business functional requirements and reporting tool functionality; synthesize the requirements and reporting capabilities into functional specifications; prepare technical specifications; and develop and test the final product. The solution will contain ad-hoc query, drill-down, slice and dice capabilities, static reporting, managed queries, and dashboards. The Sr. Developer will be working with the project teams as well as cross-functional teams across the CLIENT Worldwide. The Sr. Developer will need to collaborate with team members and management, have an understanding of structured analysis and design techniques. The Sr. Developer must be flexible to work in a 24/7 support environment and work on all BI tools and technology used within the company. The Sr. Developer is expected to work on all departmental jobs as assigned by the manager and provide status reports, timesheets as required
 

  • Hands-on technical development knowledge with multiple successful implementation of business intelligence applications and analytics server architecture and metadata management
  • Technical experience in designing, configuring and deploying BI/Performance Management application user functionalities using Oracle OBIEE plus or related BI tool sets eg. Cognos. Though OBIEE experience is preferred.
  • Hands on knowledge and experiences in data design/data modeling using tools such as ERWin or Oracle Designer
  • Hands on knowledge and experiences in ETL/Data integration with commercial tools such as Oracle Warehouse Builder, Informatica or Data Stage
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to present technical and business solution concepts to all levels across functional domains (both technical and non-technical audiences) from a business perspective, while developing the specifications that can be understood and implemented by the technical team
  • Expert understanding of how to convert logical database designs into physical databases. Creates and maintains database schemas and subset schemas.
  • Technical knowledge of Oracle e-Business Stack in a multi-tier environment preferred
  • In depth experience and technical Development knowledge with Oracle 10g or 11g databases
  • SDLC Discipline – Must have over 5 years of Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Development knowledge MUST have - XML – SQL – PLSQL.- UNIX SHELL
  • Must have had previous exposure on implementing Full-life cycle Metadata Management Framework.
  • Build and maintain the object model for the system using design patterns and levels of abstraction, ensuring future maintainability of the system
  • Analyze existing data structures and object models for reusability with Establishment and enforcement of coding standards
  • Strong desire to keep current on new technologies that push the limits of what we can do creatively
  • Create technical design specifications, developing analytical reports, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, debug, tune and optimize report performance.
  • Work as part of a team to Design, Build and Test the implementation of BI Analytics and reporting solutions into the CLIENT's Enterprise BI platform using Informatica or other ETL tools to extract the data from the source tables in the Oracle eBusiness Suite, Business Unit ODS, Hyperion Essbase and other data sources.
  • The Sr. Developer/Analyst will be responsible for installation and verification of the system changes, modeling, designing, developing, tuning, and testing the back end structures to meet all requirements. Provide Project transition to offshore Support team via documentation and maintain center of Excellence. Implement metadata and MDM solution based on needs
  • This individual must be able understand business functional requirements and reporting tool functionality; synthesize the requirements and reporting capabilities into functional specifications; prepare technical specifications; and develop and test the final product.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in a scientific, business or technical field.
  • 5+ years of Data Warehouse experience or equivalent experience in enterprise information delivery solutions
  • 5-8 years’ experience in data modeling skills designing both normalized and de-normalized dimensional data structures for both Relational and OLAP
  • At least five years’ experience in leading the development and enhancements of systems using Oracle SQL, an ETL tool, and PL/SQL, Oracle Discover, Business intelligence tools, data warehouse builder
  • Minimum 3 years of experience and expertise required in gathering and analyzing business user requirements.
  • Completely familiar with the general requirements and issues associated with building BI or enterprise information delivery solutions
  • Ability to qualify, analyze business requirements and map solutions to requirements
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Business Intelligence methodology and implementation practices
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • 2+ years supporting an integrated Oracle Financials on Unix environment is a plus
  • Exposure to integration with HFM Family of Products (Planning / Essbase / HFM) is preferred
  • Must have experience with advance database techniques - such as Materialized View / Data Pump.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written analytical/problem solving, communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
  • Demonstrates good personal time management skills, including punctuality, time reporting and completion of assigned tasks within agreed time frames
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable regulations and Company operating procedures, processes, policies, and tasks.
